The University of Otago Library offers an outstanding range of information services, quality resources and excellent facilities. Staff can make use of all the facilities using their staff ID card.
University library locations and collections
There are many library locations on campus. The Library website has a complete list of locations, hours and floorplans of all university libraries.
The university is home to several special collections including:
- Māori Resources Collection: containing core Māori resources including books, reports, journals, maps and atlases.
- Special Collections: containing books and manuscripts which span the earliest examples of European printing through to modern first editions and publications from the 20th and 21st centuries.
- Hocken Collections: containing a range of materials in relation to the history and culture of New Zealand, the Pacific and Antarctica with a focus on Otago and Southland.
